The Belmont Library is now closed for reconstruction. The New Belmont Library will open in the spring of 2006, now only months away!

All material borrowed from the Belmont Library may be returned to any public library in San Mateo County, including:

Construction Progress

Events are now moving fast toward the consummation of this project. The photo below, taken in mid-June '05, shows the first walls being constructed on the completed steel beams.

DONATE TO THE NEW BELMONT LIBRARY

Funds must be raised to furnish the library with:

Computers and Monitors.
Books and Periodical Collections.
Enhanced Homework Center.
New Children's Book and Videos.
Improved Circulation Technology.
Interior Finishings (including doors, carpeting, paint, tables, chairs, shelving ... and more).

To fill this need, a group of citizens calling themselves the Furnish Our Belmont Library Committee is hard at work raising these necessary funds. The Friends of the Belmont Library are acting as the financial arm of the "Furnish Our Belmont Library" Committee to raise $350,000 of these funds. Thus donations will be collected in the name of the "Friends of the Belmont Library", but they are marked for the purposes of the "Furnish Our Belmont Library Committee".

Latest Fundraising Efforts

Our "Counter" now tells us that on January 3, 2006 The New Library has received $340,600 in donations from the Furnish Our New Belmont Library Committee.
