Author Event: Seanan McGuire

Sunday, March 14 at 2:00 pm
Science fiction writer Seanan McGuire will read from Rosemary and Rue: An October Daye Novel. October "Toby" Daye, a changeling who is half human and half fae, has been an outsider from birth. After getting burned by both sides of her heritage, Toby has denied the Faerie world, retreating to a "normal" life. Well researched, sharply told, highly atmospheric and as action-packed as any pulp detective tale, this promising start to a new urban fantasy series is sure to appeal.

Author Event: Jo Nesbø

The international sensation Jo Nesbø will read from his latest book, Nemesis, which Publisher's Weekly lists as one of the Best Books of 2009. With his eight internationally acclaimed crime novels featuring Detective Harry Hole, Jo Nesbø has achieved an unparalleled success both in his native country Norway and abroad, winning the hearts of critics, booksellers and readers alike. The iconic Walter Mosley will return to the Belmont Library to read from his latest crime novel Known to Evil. The Associated Press proclaims "Only Mosley has employed detective fiction as a vehicle for a thoughtful, textured examination of race relations in the United States."

Author Event: Sy Montgomery

Wednesday, May 12 at 7:00 pm
Author Sy Montgomery, bestselling author of The Good, Good Pig returns to the Belmont Library to read from her latest book, Birdology: Lessons Learned from a Pack of Hens, a Peck of Pigeons, Cantankerous Crows, Fierce Falcons, Hip Hop Parrots, Baby Hummingbirds, and One Murderously Big Cassowary. Elizabeth Marshall Thomas, author of The Hidden Life of Dogs writes, "Sy Montgomery may be the best interpreter of animals of all time.
